On 10/08, the PCHS Volleyball Team played Highland High. There was a ‘program sweep’, with all four PCHS teams beating them. Starting off strong with the Sophomore team, they all played extremely well. Nevia Keller set Laney Smith for some strong hits that resulted in points, and Brittin Corcoran kept the team in the game with some good saves.

The Freshman team followed the Sophomore game. Although they lost their first set in a close, intense game, they pulled through and ended up winning both the second and third set. The fourth set to settle the tie got cut off for time purposes, with PCHS leading 7 - 6. After the first game, the team pulled through and worked well together. Elouise Guss, Anna Kabler, and Evalyn Elstein all had some extremely good saves. To finish off Highland for the remaining sets, there were some great serves and ‘aces’, or when the opposing team is unable to pass a serve.

The JV team won in a quick three sets as well. Their team chemistry was off the charts, leading them to a swift victory against Highland High. The entire team communicated well throughout the entire game.

Over on Varsity, Olivia Tabaracci had some amazing hits with the help of setter Aislyn Smith. Stella McLean helped out the team by having some insane saves throughout the sets, and Eva Hernandez, typically a JV player, played up and finished off the third Varsity set with an extraordinary ace. All PCHS Volleyball teams played extremely well, and had a great night playing–and beating–Highland High.
